Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and immerse yourself in the magical world of the countryside while tasting an authentic Slovenian experience. Explore the areas just outside Ljubljana, rich in history, beautiful nature, and friendly people. Thanks to abundant mineral resources and the nearby Sava River, these places were settled very early.
The Heart of Slovenia is surrounded by green hills, lush forests, and picturesque blooming meadows.
At the Pr’ Škundr farm in Slivna, near the Geometric Centre of Slovenia, they are developing a unique story woven between tradition and modernity. The farm is fully committed to ecological farming, which means you’ll enjoy a fresh and healthy environment, taste homemade delicacies, and try your hand at clay crafting. Hand-shaping clay is one of the best ways to learn about local crafts and heritage.
Close to the Škundr family farm is the GEOSS Adventure Park, where children from the age of 4 and adults can climb seven different routes of varying difficulty and take a ride on the giant zip line. Thrill-seekers can climb up to 25 meters high, while those seeking a more relaxed experience can stay at just 1 meter off the ground.
In case of rain or discomfort with heights, you can choose to visit the Sitarjevec Mine in Litija, one of Slovenia’s largest ore deposits. With over 60 types of colorful minerals and the world’s fastest-growing stalactites, this underground world is truly special. Today, the mine is open solely for tourism. It was once a major source of lead and mercury ores. You’ll hear stories of the hard work and brave hearts of former miners who often faced tough challenges.
No true Slovenian experience is complete without tasting authentic food cooked over an open fire. You’ll be pampered by ECO Farm Vovše, whose products carry the Heart of Slovenia Quality Certificate. Once you bite into freshly baked bread, you’ll understand the importance of preserving tradition.
All activities in this program are designed to connect you with local heritage, nature, and Slovenian tradition.
