Begin the day early at the Matk farm with a hands-on goat milking experience, followed by a hearty homemade breakfast made from local ingredients. A peaceful and authentic introduction to alpine farm life.
Discover the (hi)story of Solčavsko at the Solčava Tourist Information Center for an individual visit to the exhibition “Solčavsko – Our Home in the Embrace of the Alps”. Through multimedia and carefully curated displays, you’ll learn about the region’s rich natural and cultural heritage, including its people.
Ride the Solčava Panoramic Road by e-bike – after the exhibition, hop on an e-bike and explore one of the most scenic routes in Slovenia – the Solčava Panoramic Road. This self-guided ride takes you past stunning viewpoints, traditional high-mountain farms, and quiet alpine meadows.
End the day by getting creative with wool – in the afternoon, take part in a wool felting workshop. By using natural wool from local sheep, you’ll create your own handmade item while learning about this traditional craft that has been passed down for generations.
Day 1
7:30 – morning milking of goats at the Matk farm with a home-made breakfast
9:00 – go to Solčava (by car) for an individual viewing of the exhibition “SOLČAVSKO – OUR HOME IN THE EMBRACE OF THE ALPS ” with multivision at Center Rinka
9:30 – e-bike rental at Center Rinka and ride along the Solčava panoramic road (cca. 35km, can last up to 3-4hrs, depending on how many stops you make)
– stop for lunch/snack at one of the many traditional mountain farms by the Solčava panoramic road by your own choosing or go to the Matk farm for some dessert – goat-milk ice-cream
16:00 – ride back to Solčava for a traditional felting workshop
Note: It is possible to arrange accommodation at one of the local farms on your own, minimum is at least 2 or 3 nights, and explore the area of Solčavsko and Logarska dolina valley further.
