”Postojna”
Paola and I spent a weekend at Postojna in Hotel Jama. The weather was incredible, and the excursion to see the 16th century huge caves with our guide Kevin was remarkable! He was super informative and answered all my curiousities including the info about the salamander that I had not seen before.
After the caves, Kevin brought us on a relatively new experience called the secret rooms of Hotel Jama, which revealed a very unexpected series of rooms within the hotel property, linked to a time during Tito’s rule when there was presumed suspicion and recordings of certain groups of people. The rooms were only discovered in 2016 even though, they appered to have been around since 1970s. The items were kept as they were since then and raised a lot of questions to me on how many things have been kept a secret in Slovenia.
The next day we went to the Postojna cave castle, which was my first time seeing a castle within a cave that was also incredible stunning and a reminder of the ways people lived in the past.
It was an amazing trip! 😀
