Over two days, visitors discover Rogatec through a unique blend of cultural heritage, cycling, local gastronomy and authentic countryside experiences. Nestled beneath the scenic slopes of Donačka Gora Mountain, Rogatec Rogatec reveals the traditions, craftsmanship and stories that have shaped this remarkable landscape for centuries.
The experience begins at Strmol Manor Rogatec, where visitors explore Rogatec’s rich stonemasonry and glassmaking heritage through exhibitions and stories of local craftsmen. After refreshments at the Manor Café, guests set off on an e-bike adventure through the cultural landscape surrounding Rogatec. Along the route, they visit the remains of the region’s first forest glassworks, the source of the Sotla River and a historic sandstone quarry, gaining insight into the natural resources and traditional crafts that once shaped local life.
After an overnight stay at Glamping Pod Goro, the second day begins with a visit to Donačka Gora Mountain, one of Slovenia’s most distinctive peaks, renowned for its breathtaking panoramic views. Visitors then continue to Slovenia’s largest open-air museum, where they explore traditional rural architecture and everyday life at their own pace with the help of an English-language audio guide.
The highlight of the programme is the 28th Likof na Taberhi, a traditional harvest celebration marking the end of the grain harvest while preserving local rural heritage.
The journey concludes with meetings and conversations with local artisans, tourism providers and people who continue to preserve Rogatec’s traditions and way of life.
